LuxExpress, Onnibus and Tallink cooperation
Estonian coach operator Lux Express and Finnish transport company OnniBus have joined forces to create a new international travel network connecting Finland with the Baltics and Poland. The partnership, developed together with Tallink Silja, introduces a seamless travel experience that combines buses, ferry connections, and cross-border routes into a single booking system. The new initiative is designed to make travel across Northern Europe more convenient, sustainable, and affordable for tourists and business travelers alike.
The international network officially launches on June 19 and expands travel opportunities between Finland and several key destinations in the Baltic region. Travelers departing from cities such as Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, Jyväskylä, and Kotka can now easily reach popular destinations including Tallinn, Riga, Kaunas, Panevėžys, and Warsaw. By offering integrated schedules and simplified transfers, the partnership aims to encourage regional tourism and strengthen transport links between Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
One of the main advantages of the new system is the ability to book an entire international journey using a single ticket. Passengers can arrange their trip through the OnniBus website or mobile application, reducing the need for multiple bookings across different operators. Travelers begin their journey on an OnniBus service in Finland before transferring to a Tallink ferry connection between Helsinki and Tallinn. After arriving in Estonia, Lux Express premium coaches continue the journey to destinations across the Baltics and Poland.
The new network reflects the increasing popularity of short regional trips and sustainable travel alternatives in Europe. Cities such as Tallinn and Riga continue to attract visitors with their historic old towns, cultural landmarks, shopping districts, and vibrant food scenes. Kaunas and Panevėžys provide travelers with opportunities to explore Lithuanian culture and architecture, while Warsaw offers a combination of modern attractions and historic heritage sites. The improved transport links are expected to boost tourism throughout the region and make multi-country travel more accessible.
In addition to supporting tourism growth, the cooperation between Lux Express and OnniBus positions both companies as strong competitors in the European long-distance travel market. The focus on passenger comfort, coordinated timetables, and efficient international connections creates an attractive alternative to air travel. By building a unified Northern European mobility network, the companies aim to provide travelers with a reliable and environmentally friendly way to explore the Baltics, Finland, and Poland.
